Treasures from the Reef: The Extraordinary Pearls and Gemstones of the Marina Collier
Margot McKinney’s Marina Collier, created for her debut at TEFAF Maastricht, is a breathtaking tribute to the vibrant colors of the Great Barrier Reef
Overview
Featuring 25 rare Australian South Sea baroque pearls, the necklace showcases McKinney’s mastery of combining nature’s wonders with extraordinary gemstones. Alongside fifth generation Australian pearl farmer, Aji Ellies, Margot McKinney will approach the narratives of the Collier. The carefully selected gemstones, characterized by vivid hues, create a homage to the reef’s shimmering tropical waters by mirroring the play of sunlight on the shallow waters of the Great Barrier Reef in Queensland, Australia. Balancing the precision of the gems, the collier presents large baroque pearls which with their organic forms complete the necklace’s powerful narrative. McKinney’s Marina Collier is both a visual and tactile masterpiece, crafted with unparalleled artistry and passion.
