About the Work

Certificate of authenticity from the Archivio Paolo Buffa.

Paolo Buffa, architect and designer, was active between the 1930s and the 1960s. Known for works that blend neoclassical style with Art Deco motifs, he can be considered a link in the field of furniture design between the international modernist movement and the "retour à l'ordre" culture, which was interpreted mainly in post-World War II Milan. This movement was marked by a simplified neoclassicism and a reinterpretation of modern architecture in a monumentalist key.

Buffa’s creations, designed for a refined clientele, aimed to meet the tastes and needs of a world that perceived itself as new, eager for functionality and comfort, without sacrificing elegance.
