About the Work

At TEFAF Maastricht 2025 we are displaying important historical works by Joseph Beuys, including "Doe with calf" (1948), which affirms Beuys's deep connection with nature, as animals held profound symbolic meaning for him.

The work was exhibited at Palazzo Cini, Fondazione Giorgio Cini, Venice, Joseph Beuys: Fine-limbed, 20 April – 2 October 2022, Lehmbruck Museum, Duisburg, Lehmbruck – Beuys.
