About the Work

This is a fine 18th century copy of the Head of Laocoön by one of the most important sculptors active in Britain, at the time.

Provenance

Roubiliac's Posthumous Auction, held by Mr Langford, 12th May 1762, and the following three days, sold fourth day, lot 72.
