About the Work

This necklace illustrates the influence of this artistic tradition on Van Cleef & Arpels' inventiveness. It consists of floral garlands of diamonds, arranged across the lower part of the neckline. They alternate with seven turquoise cabochons of increasing size, which meet at the center of the composition in a larger turquoise pendant.

In their association of the blue stone with diamonds, these elements recall a sought-after ring of the 18th century. Called "daisies", the latter were made up of a central gem surrounded by smaller diamonds.
