The present drawing, a rather shy, reticent self-depiction executed very early on in the artist’s career, is among a small oeuvre of early self-portraits. Ours is very closely linked to another self-portrait drawing in which the artist calls herself ‘Coco’ (Marchesseau, 1903-1904, no. PP 0032).
