Art Deco enamel, gem and diamond Persianesque brooch by Henri Vever, Paris 1925, of shaped oblong form, with a seated enamel figure playing a setar type instrument, enamelled in naturalistic colouring wearing a turquoise coloured robe, to a pavé set diamond ground with pierced cloud design to the upper part, accented with calibré cut gem flower stems in ruby, sapphire and amethyst and with emerald leaves, the diamond of single cut, millegrain set and mounted in platinum with 18ct gold brooch fitting, French assaymarks, French workshop mark possibly G&E for Geoffroy & Eisenmann (to the pin), second workshop mark to gallery worn, serial number to the gallery 3795.

It was designed by the French government to highlight the new modern style of architecture, interior decoration, furniture, glass, jewelry and other decorative arts in Europe and throughout the world. The term 'Art Deco' derives from this fair.
