About the Work

The sculpture“Polychrome Six”, which was created by Alexander Calder in 1973 using metal and wire, is a significant example of his “stabiles”. In “Polychrome Six”, Calder achieves a sense of movement through the materials used, the twisting of the standard and the free-floating white elements, which forms the primary element of the composition in “Polychrome Six”.
