Signed and dated by the artist on the reverse : VERA MOLNAR / 1968/11 / 9 CARRES PARME, this piece comes from the private collection of Mrs Yvonne Paumelle, executor of the will.

A earlier variation of this pattern, bigger and red "6 carrés rouges" (1966), also an oil on canva, exists in the Centre Pompidou's collection. It was exhibited in the retrospective "Vera Molnár. Parler à l'oeil", Centre Pompidou, February 28 - August 26 2024
