M.F. Toninelli Art Moderne Monaco
1960: a new gallery, Toninelli Arte Moderna was opened Milano. Typical exhibitions included shows of: Balla, DeChirico, Poliakoff, Albers, Melotti, Afro, Burri. The gallery became a venue for exceptional traveling shows: Bacon, Marini, Pollock, Schwitters.
Toninelli Arte Moderna was instrumental in the organization of major Marini retrospectives in Zurich 1960, Rome 1966 and Venice (Palazzo Grassi) 1983.
1962: Toninelli Arte Moderna cooperated with Professor Giovanni Carandente to select and set up in Spoleto the innovative sculpture show “Scultura nella Citta”. It included the David Smith exhibition of all the "Voltri "pieces within the local ancient Roman Theatre.
1969: Toninelli Arte Moderna moved to Piazza di Spagna in Rome.
1970: Toninelli Arte Moderna became one of the founding galleries in what is now Art Basel. The gallery also exhibited 18 straight years at FIAC, since 1976 with the largest booth in Grand Palais.
1983 and 1984: Along with Rudolf Zwirner (father of David) staged in Palazzo Grassi, Venice, “THE SIMA”, an invitational modern and contemporary art dealers show that included the likes of Beyeler, Berggruen, Bischofsberger, Castelli, d'Offay, Gmurzynska, Knoedler, Janis, Denise Rene, Sperone, Sonnabend, Thomas.
Since 1983 the gallery has exhibited internationally in the world’s most important modern and contemporary art fairs. Toninelli Arte Moderna was among the first exhibitors at ARCO Madrid, Arte Fiera Bologna, Art Frankfurt and Hamburg, Salon de Mars Paris then Geneva, Art Jonction Nice and Cannes, Artissima Turin, IFAAF Monte Carlo (Grimaldi Forum), Art Miami, MINT Milan, Art Paris Abu Dhabi, Dubai A&A, Art Stage Singapore, Salon Point Art Monaco.
From 1984-2000 Toninelli Arte Moderna was the only regular yearly exhibitor at FIAC present also at the Paris Biennale upon invitation by the Syndicat National des Antiquaires.
Since 1987 the gallery has participated in several fairs at the Park Avenue Armory including Modernism, Art of the 20th Century, PAD New York, The Salon New York.
1988: On the occasion of the 75th Anniversary of the historic 1913 "Art at the Armory" exhibition on Lexington Avenue Toninelli Arte Moderna featured a rare group of paintings by Andre Masson.
Late Nineties : Successors Mrs. M.F. Toninelli and third generation family member Gaia Toninelli shifted the main office and operations from Rome to the Principality of Monaco as M.F. Toninelli Art Moderne Monaco.
After 2002 and through 2008 M.F. Toninelli Art Moderne Monaco was present in the main Palm Beach art fairs.
M.F. Toninelli Art Moderne Monaco maintains membership in: Syndicat National des Antiquaires, Comite Professionnel des Galeries d’Art, CSEDT, CINOA, GIE Point Art Monaco, Monaco Art Week.
