HIDDE VAN SEGGELEN runs a contemporary program from its space in Hamburg, Germany. The gallery collaborates with UK based artists Andy Holden, Siobhán Hapaska, Tom Benson, Damian Taylor, Richard Bevan and Aishan Yu as well as with Dutch artists Jan van de Pavert, Ansuya Blom, Jos van Merendonk, Klaas Kloosterboer, Harmen Brethouwer, Carina Ellemers and Wim T. Schippers. We also proudly represent artists Suchan Kinoshita (JP/BE), Pere Llobera (ES), Thomas Gruenfeld (DE) and Lutz Driessen (DE).
Recent exhibitions at the gallery included the first solo exhibitions by Ansuya Blom, Carina Ellemers and Jan van de Pavert in Germany, the solo presentation 'Is that all there is?' by Pere Llobera and 'It fades and fades and fades, ugh, ugh, ugh', an exhibition with film- and photographic works by Welsh artist Richard Bevan. For 2025 exhibitions are scheduled with artists Wim T. Schippers and Suchan Kinoshita. Recent museum solo shows of our gallery artist include Andy Holden at the Kröller-Müller Museum and Tate St. Ives, UK, Harmen Brethouwer at Museum Kranenburgh, Bergen, Ansuya Blom at Centraal Museum Utrecht (Landhuis Oud Amelisweerd) and Siobhán Hapaska at The Douglas Hyde gallery, Dublin. Recent publications include Harmen Brethouwer - Scratching Lacquer, Pere Llobera – Hurrah For Anything with Terranova and Jan van de Pavert. Collected Works with Jap Sam Books.
Noteworthy recent sales to public museums include the installation Da Capo by Suchan Kinoshita to the Museum Boijmans, Rotterdam (NL), and the sale of monumental works by renowned Dutch artist Wim T. Schippers and Klaas Kloosterboer to the museum Voorlinden, Wassenaar (NL). In May 2023 the gallery sold an installation by Andy Holden titled Auguries to Krüller-Möller Museum, (NL), to coincide with his exhibition at the institution, March 2024.
