Founded in 1990, Galerie Retelet is a leading secondary market gallery specialized in the surrealist movement and its legacy. Beside its commitment to the Surrealism, the gallery also supports and exhibits established international american artists as well as few other major artists of the 20th century.
With more than 30 years of experience the gallery has become very efficient in finding artworks in private hand as well as building coherent collection. We also work closely with museums and institutions helping them organizing exibitions related to Surrealism. The Galerie Retelet also manage the Estate of Marcel Mariën in close cooperation with the Marcel Mariën Foundation in Belgium. Through this relation, we publish books, catalogues and favorize museum acquisition and exhibition of the artist.
The Galerie Retelet originally had a space in Charleroi (Belgium) before moving to Saint-Paul de Vence (France) in 1996. Two differents spaces were opened there and soon a third one in Brussels (Belgium). In 2006 the three galleries were closed and a private office was created in Monaco. Since 2018 the Galerie Retelet has a space in Monaco mixing public exhibition on the first floor and private sale on the second floor.
